Words change.
Take 1 Cor 13 now known as the"love chapter." In the KJV we see the word "Charity." A new reader to the old standard Bible would think "if I'd just give my unwanted things and a small part of my surpluses to the poor, I'm loving."
The "Charity Chapter" says to the contrary … talking, preaching, believing, and even giving and personal sacrifice are insufficient. If your heart is not captured and commited to meeting the needs of, not people, but a person, then real Charity is not there.
Let God capture your heart. He'll supply the resources for you to deliver to the person He wants you to love.
